The city of St. Paul was formed in 1888 and was divided into West and East in 1915. The area of West St Paul has approximately 5,200 private dwellings, the majority of which are single unattached houses. The majority of property owners are part of married couples and families (2,910) but there is a large population of single property owners as well (1,520). The average household is made up 3.1 individuals.
